Hot Pink Tie Dye!

Wow this skirt was fun! The outer layer is tie dyed hot pink. The under layer is a light pink. The ruffles are both hot pink and light pink on the outer layer, inside layer has light pink ruffles. I also made this one reversible so the light pink can be on the outside. (Bottom picture)
So cute! The girl that I made this for had one request: P I N K ! She is 4 so she has to dress herself, that is why I made it reversible. (No wrong way to put the skirt on!)

Crazy, Fun Colors!!

I finished this skirt for a friends daughter, 7 years old. Originally she wanted orange, but her mom convinced her to go with fuschia. They were certain on one thing: No light pink! And out of that, this skirt was born. It is a fuschia satin waist band, the first tier is also fuschia. The second tier is one block of fuschia, one block of teal and one block of apple green. The ruffles are fuschia, apple, teal, and yellow thrown in for fun. I think it turned out awesome! I hadn't done anything this crazy before, but WOW. SO much fun!!!

I am also finishing up a solid black skirt for Michelle (Down the Lane Photography) and another surprise for her. :) Again, so close to finishing! I also have a chocolate brown skirt ready, just needs ruffles. I cut out light blue to put on, but I am still debating putting light pink on instead. I just don't know......

Pictures to follow soon!!

So pretty!

This skirt is light pink. It looks darker in the picture than it is in person. Very girly! Very soft! Very pretty!

This skirt is teal. On the color chart it is called arabian. Very pretty. This is a very popular color for spring! It looks great with so many colors! White, black, green apple, yellow, light pink, and especially hot pink. I am working on a mini-petti skirt with several of these colors. I cannot wait to finish it. I will post pics soon.

Fun colors!!

This skirt is black with candy pink. I actually made it for my niece at the request of her mom. It turned out amazing!! It was a huge hit at the craft fair!

Robbinsdale Craft/Bake Sale and Flea Market

So the sale was fun. I didn't sell any skirts, but I got my name out and I had 5 skirts to show. Funny enough, when I was making the skirts I was thinking "I hope this doesn't sell because it would be perfect on Ella" and "I hope this one doesn't sell because it would be perfect for my niece." I am okay with not selling any, I really don't want to be overwhelmed with orders. They take time and this isn't a full time business, just a really pretty, fun hobby! :)
I love the way the teal one turned out. I used a little different satin on the waist (a little thicker, not as shiny). I will make a smaller one for Ella and see how it holds up. It should be nice, that satin was more expensive than the regular one I use. Funny enough, the person next to us at the sale was the husband of a friend. He is a photographer, here is his link: http://www.johnfellman.com/
We had a great day overall, even with it being chilly and some cloud cover. People were in good spirits and there was a great mix of vendors and of course plenty of yummy treats and coffee.

Working hard or hardly working??

Yeah, right. I am working hard. Look at my workstation: Organized chaos. I am getting ready for this Craft/Bake sale here in Robbinsdale. It is May 9 at City Hall. I will have a booth with my skirts. My aunt has a space reserved also with all things that grandma has been working on. Gotta keep grandma busy or she'll get into trouble. :)

Ivory Mini-Petti

Newest creation: Ivory "vintage lace" and chiffon over a fluffy layer of nylon chiffon. The top layer of lace and nylon chiffon is from a slip. This is a mini-pettiskirt so it is shorter and intended to go over leggings, pants or shorts. It is a size 2T/3T. I am selling this one for $45.
